I also think that it would have done wonders for Katie Holmes' image as well. Ever since the whole Suri debacle and her attachment to Tom Cruise, her career has been put on hold. If she had reprised her role as Rachel Dawes, it would have done her a favor. However, I still liked Maggie Gyllenhaal in the role. Believe me, I'm no fan of switching key character actors (for instance, Maria Bello replacing Rachel Weisz as Evie in The Mummy 3.
