Gary Lightbody is my Ferris Bueller.

I just got back from the Snow Patrol/OK Go/Silversun Pickups show at the SDSU Open Air Theatre. Right now I feel tingly all over, like you just got off Space Mountain and you want so badly to experience it all over again, but you know the amusement park is closed and you probably won’t be able to do it again for quite a while. It was that good.
Snow Patrol was in San Diego I believe last November. I was so fucking frustrated that I couldn’t go see them because of the fucking 21+ age limit they impose at the House of Blues. So I thought my chance was over, and it bothered me for quite a while. Then, when I learned that they were coming back, this time with OK Go and Silversun Pickups headlining for them, I almost did cartwheels. It was like a sign. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to go to the HoB gig. The second coming was definitely worth the 40 bucks. The venue was pretty good, because I got good seats, so I have no reason to complain. I bought my tickets during the presale period, which explains the good seats. I was like 15 feet from the stage, maybe. I was able to sneak my camera in, hence the delightful pictures.
When I got to the OAT, Silversun Pickups had just started their 6-song set. I wasn’t familiar with their songs yet, I had only heard “Lazy Eye”, which was an awesome song. They had decided to close with it, which was also an awesome decision. They weren’t very talkative, since they were pressed for time, so they weren’t really able to converse with the audience like OK Go and Snow Patrol did. Anyway, when OK Go came on, the theatre was about full. The band came on, and I’m telling you, drool almost fell from my mouth when Damien walked onstage.
He’s just so pretty, it’s not even funny.
